Interesting since he wasn't the MPSF's POW, Sam Holt from CSUN was.

From the AVCA:

Sinisa Zarkovic, a 6-4 sophomore outside hitter for No. 9 University of Hawaii, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Men's Division I-II National Player of the Week. It was a huge weekend for the Rainbow Warriors, defeating then-No. 2 BYU twice last weekend to enter into a three-way tie for sixth place in the MPSF standings.  The first match of the home series was a roller coaster with BYU taking the first two sets before Hawaii stormed back. With the Cougars on match point to go for the sweep, Zarkovic pounded a kill to tie up the third set as they went on to win the final three and the match. After a 12-kill, three-dig and three-block performance, Zarkovic had a career match the following day.  He notched his second career 20-plus kill match with 22 while hitting at a .410 clip with five digs and four blocks. That second match was played in front of the largest crowd of the season of 4,493 on senior night.

This is the 19th time in program history a Hawai'i student-athlete has garnered Sports Imports/Player of the Week honors. The most recent Hawai'i recipient of the award is Brook Sedore, who won it on March 4th earlier this year.  The Rainbow Warriors are coached by Charlie Wade.
