  •  Brooke Sedore, a 6-5 junior opposite for No. 8 University of Hawai'i, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Men's Division I-II National Player of the Week. Faced with two consecutive home matches against then-No. 3 UCLA, Sedore played some of the best volleyball in his career leading the Rainbow Warriors to a pair of wins. In the first match he recorded a season-high 24 kills on .452 hitting with two digs and as many blocks in the four-set win. He maintained his high level of play in the rematch, this time smashing a match-high 22 kills and hit an even .400 with five digs. For the week, his 5.11 kills per set average were well above his 3.62 season average. Entering the weekend, Sedore had only one 20-plus kill match on the season as Hawai'I jumped three spots from No. 11 in the latest AVCA Coaches Poll.  It was their first MPSF series sweep of UCLA since 2006.

This is the 18th time in program history a Hawaii student-athlete has garnered Sports Imports/Player of the Week honors, with the most recent coming from Sinisa Zarkovic on March 12, 2013.
